Video Player All Format

What it does

Video Player All Format is a local media player for Android from InShot Inc. It scans video files on your device and plays common formats including MP4, MKV, M4V and AVI. It is suited to people who keep downloaded or recorded videos on a phone, tablet or SD card and want one player for different file types, rather than relying on the device’s default app.

Useful sides

• Hardware acceleration helps with demanding video, including high-resolution playback.
• Playback speed controls support slower viewing or faster watching.
• Background audio and a floating window let you keep media playing while using other apps.
• Gesture controls can adjust volume, brightness and playback position from the viewing screen.
• Chromecast support provides an option for sending compatible media to a larger display.
• A private folder with password protection is useful for videos you do not want mixed into the main library.

What to watch for

This is a broad player rather than a minimal one. Its extra controls, privacy tools and multitasking options may be more than you need if you only play occasional MP4 files. Playback results can also depend on the video’s encoding and the Android device, so format support does not guarantee identical performance for every file.

At a glance

The app holds a 4.8 rating from more than 1.85 million reviews and has been installed over 100 million times. Those figures show wide adoption, while the app’s strongest fit is more specific: users who want flexible local playback, simple control gestures, casting and privacy features in one video player.
